Cargill Employees Bring Holiday Joy to Needy Children in Minneapolis
On Thursday, December 19, an early Christmas came to 202 socially and economically disadvantaged children, who participate in the YMCA of Minneapolis’ “Pathways to Success Program” at the Nellie Stone Johnson School in north Minneapolis. Approximately 20 Cargill employees, representing six Cargill business units and functions (Cargill Malt, SBD, Horizon Milling, Industrial Oils, Human Resources and Public Affairs) organized a two-hour party, delivered gifts for each child, sang Christmas songs and played with the children. The employees included Cargill executive David Raisbeck and Cargill Malt president, Doug Eden. The party started early for the children when two weeks earlier 20 Cargill Strategic Business Development employees, including SBD corporate vice president, Jim Haymaker, went to the school on December 5th to help the children decorate and eat cookies and collect their Christmas ornaments with their Christmas wishes. |
