Cargill lubricant business names "Blue Planet" specialist to head marketing team

MINNEAPOLIS - September 4, 2002 - Luis del Valle, former general manager of Koch Industries specialty fuel brands, has been named global marketing director for Cargill's industrial lubricant business. He will be responsible for the worldwide marketing and business expansion of Cargill's full line of naturally derived base oils and finished fluids.

In four years at Koch Industries, del Valle directed the sales and marketing of the company's Performance Fuel brands. His accomplishments include developing Blue Planetâ, the first commercially available "earth-friendly" gasoline outside of California. He also launched U.S. Soy Field Diesel, a soybean-based fuel targeted at the Midwest agricultural market. Before going to Koch Industries, del Valle spent 13 years at Pennzoil, the last three as brand manager for specialty brands.
